hotels

Of course London has all kind and categories of hotels, but unfortunately most of them are not so cheap..

We do recommend the Tavistock Hotel in Tavistock Square, which is very central and where we will meet informally in the bar on Friday evening and from where we set off on Saturday and Sunday.

The Tavistock Hotel can provide accommodation at a reasonable price. With art deco style public rooms, it has 395 smallish but perfectly adequate modern en-suite rooms with computer point and WiFi.
People can book the hotel direct by going to the booking of the Imperial Hotels Group which has various language options and then calling 00 44 207278 7871 or e-mailing info@imperialhotels.co.uk specifying Let's Go Weekend, the hotel required, dates, and type of room required.
There are several hotels in the group, all within walking distance of each other and at different price levels. People are encouraged to book as early as possible as these are very central, popularly-priced hotels.
Let's Go Weekend is a good offer: 74 euros per person per night at £1=1.24 euros for Friday and Saturday nights taken together, including tax, English breakfast, three-course evening meals in a choice of 4 restaurants in the group - I would recommend the buffet at the President - a welcome drink which can be taken when we meet in the bar on Friday, and free parking. Vouchers for the inclusions are collected from Reception. A city congestion charge for cars could apply.

Another reasonably-priced hotel within walking distance is the Mabledon Court Hotel in Mabledon Place. This is convenient also for Euston, King's Cross and St Pancras.

There is an IBIS hotel in Commercial Street opposite Toynbee Hall (Tel: 0207 4228400; e-mail H5011@accor.com : but cheaper booked online).
Or people could try Premier Inns or Travelodge, both of which have hotels in the Euston/King's Cross area.

Alternatively, find cheap internet-bookings through booking.com , hotel.de , EasytoBook.com , and others
Or look on London tourist websites as All in London.
When looking for a hotel: Toynbee Hall is in London's East End, just round the corner from Aldgate East station (London Underground) and ten minutes walk from Liverpool Street station (London Underground and mainline railway)

There are also good hostels in London for young-minded people who want something much cheaper: see the Youth Hostels or YMCA. or just google "London hostels".
